Taste of Chi-Town

...Is it still the first week of the journey?

Now sitting in Minneapolis, we have been on the road almost a week, driven almost 1500 miles, and seen homes, bars, and parks in Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Detroit, Flint, Chicago, not to mention much country and rest stops in between.

Though this route we traced pales in comparison with the road to come, it feels like we have traveled far and wide, met many people, and heard many stories that will stay with us for the rest of the journey. These blog posts are also a great memory tool since they force me to reflect on what has happened in the past days.

We rolled up to Chicago with no plan at all, flying by the seat of our collective pants. We walked the waterfront and the downtown area, feeling the place out, and soon had a host and evening plans.

Now reflecting on the experience, I know that I would not be unhappy in Chicago. Sure it was more congested on street and sidewalk than I would have liked, but that also added to the vibrance!

Sure it was loud and overbearing at times, but the comedy and music performers reflected that more positively.

Overall, would recommend to a friend!
