May 24 - Reunited at Casper Airport, and immediately scrambling and climbing off the road back to Lander.  Car brakes smoking...but potluck grilling makes it all ok!

May 25 – Car assessment and drama lead to a loaned Mustang for a quick climbing trip, before work at the greenhouse, and followed by an evening on the winning team at Lander Bar trivia.

May 26 – Hosting pancake brunch leads to trading mustang for Big Foot Wyoming truck and off-roading through late season snow, before an evening with a local news man in the next town over.

​

May 27 – Housesitting, so full bed (dog, cat, kilian), then a hike in Sinks Canyon.  Afternoon failing car mechanical work, gardening at Sprouts, and finally dinner with the neighbor Linda and some evening wrestling.

May 28 – More work on my van breaks (still failing), climbing with Aaron, then food and fellowship with the Solid Rockers, Christian Climbers group, and late night dumpster diving.

May 29 – Early off-roading and hiking lead to an ascent of a 600ft granite dome in Sweetwater Rocks, then a pit stop in Jeffrey city (pop ~100) to speak with Byron pottery man and Chuck ol’ fella.

May 30 – Breakfast burritos at Kristen’s, followed by bad news from the mechanic, reading and movement, thrift shopping, car breaking down, and making dinner for a friend under a starry sky.

​

May 31 – Sleep in, then climb, Kilian rock-leading confidently, boys getting bronze, river swimming, dream fishing, enjoying borrowed cars, homemade dinner and restful stillness on the prairie.

June 1 – Roadtripping up to the Tetons in a borrowed sedan, photography, hiking, and scrambling in the afternoon, and an evening camping, slacklining, cooking, reading, eating and sleeping.

​

June 2 – Sunrise packup camp and head north to Yellowstone for marmots, moose and bears, before biking on Dubois single-track, then live music in Lander and plenty of characters.

​

June 3 – One friend bails and another door opens, so up to Wild Iris to climb we go, then down back to town, pack up supplies and out again to hike in, have a fire, and camp for the night.

​

June 4 – Morning of exciting oatmeal, hiking and fishing, then Christian Climber potluck and game night, ending it all with another fruitful evening digging in the dumpster and sharing the spoils!

​

June 5 – Sun, running errands, playing with dogs, NOLS lunch at The Noble hotel, nomad bin for food, afternoon hammocking with Mark, frosted mugs, then barbecue with Bailey and Jordan.

June 6 – Get packed and head out to TenSleep Canyon, for a gorgeous drive in zach's car and an excellent day of hard climbing, finishing with half a watermelon and dinner around a fire.

​

June 7 – Waking to filtered morning light, oatmeal, climbing, driving home to chef some savory grub, and quick stop at the dumpster sends us off food gifting the excess into the night.

​

June 8 – REST DAY.  Sleep in, chill, dogs, sun, eat, beer, sight seeing, dinner, and a movie.

​

June 9 – Alpine start (early), driving up sinks canyon, hiking in and up 9 miles to Worthen Reservoir, then  down for lunch, adventure climbing, dinner, and right back out for sunset, and dumpster pizza.

​

June 10 – Tea, morning exercises, barbecue prep,

volunteer work (monitoring/mingling) at the Brewfest,

too much good beer, wild dancing, friends new and old,

making it home somehow...

​

June 11 – Sun too early, immediate packing,

hungover car ride, all worth it for gorgeous crack climbing

at Fremont canyon, and home to a late dinner on the grill

with lightning over the prairie. 

​

June 12 – Lazy last morning in Lander eating dumpster

food and watching a storm come in, then barbecuing 

and beer with Mark and the in-laws before bittersweet

goodbyes to another cool crew.

June 13 – Pick up another loaned vehicle and hit mountainous road towards Salt Lake City, an alpine lake in Big Cottonwood Canyon, city street navigation to a friend’s place for kilian’s last night : (

June 14 – 5 o'clock wake up drive through city streets and drop Kili at the airport…I don’t know when we will see each other again, but I think there is little chance it will take as long as last time (2 years)!
